Video game writer

From 2014 to 2019 I was a teacher at various course programs for game design and development, at applied science levels and vocational level-institutes in the Netherlands. At Hanze University in Groningen I combined my industry knowledge and network into courses focussing on internships, business development, and interactive design thinking. At HKU (School for the Arts) in Utrecht I taught marketing and business development skills, and alo game art. At the vocational-level Mediacollege Amsterdam I was involved in game art classes, design workshops and more. I also was a game and business development coach for Base Games, an in-house studio where students learned (I hope) how to run a game business.

These jobs were instrumental for my development as the video games jack-of-all-trades I am today. As I learned to clearly communicate design processes, course outcomes and more, and learned how to apply paedagogic and didactic skills to groups of students, I grew exponentially as a professional, and as a person. Working with talented students sharpens your wits, your skills, your person, and I wouldn't have missed the experience for the world.
