Around 2022 I got involved in writing/developing the story of The XII. In this tale a group of twelve large mecha are hidden on various locations on Earth, waiting for certain cosmic events to activate them. The twelve machines (or are they?) represent the twelve Chinese zodiac signs, and play a key part in the cosmic struggle that ensues after the starting events.
The writing of the XII was commissioned by Chinese/Dutch studio Straightfire, as part of their ongoing effort to connect Western IP building with Chinese streaming markets for animation and film, leading to traction with streaming giant Bilibili.tv and others. The story itself was put on hold for various reasons, but as of 2024 sprung back to life, with new chapters being added throughout the year.
